10 short design lessons from Dieter Rams
Dieter Rams, a man who was responsible for the design of Braun’s products for almost 30 years until 1998, is one of the living icons of the product design icons of the 20th century, His designs were a deep source of inspiration and it looks like this trend will continue for some time. When you look on his work you can almost feel the sturdiness, usefulness and innovation.
What I really like about Dieter Rams are his !0 principles of good design. Most of them, if not all, apply not only to product design, but also to UI design and I believe that to design in general. Continue reading
User Experience Design in context of Graphic Design
Right, here you can see the presentation I did in November 2009 as a part of the “Graphic Design in Context” module I did at uni.
The presentation explains the context and role of the Graphic Design in designing the User Interface and UX overall. It mainly concentrates on visual design of the User Interface, but also mentions some obvious problems and most important cornerstones of the User-Centered Design.
Although I would write it in a quite different way today and despite I feel that some of my assumptions could be vastly improved, I still think that the presentation is worth viewing. Continue reading
